This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region near residue E687 in human STAT4, a transcription factor of the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) family. STAT4 transduces intracellular signals downstream of the IL-12 and IL-23 receptors and is required for differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells into Th1 effector cells, making it a key target in studies of cell-mediated immunity, autoimmune models, and inflammatory disease.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal IgG at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications with reactivity confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples for research use only. The unconjugated format lets users pair the reagent with their preferred secondary detection systems, including HRP- or fluorescent-labeled secondaries for Western blot and enzyme- or fluorophore-conjugated reporters for IHC staining of fixed tissue sections.

For handling, store refrigerated at 4 °C and protect from light; for long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C, limiting repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. The recognized epitope lies in the C-terminal portion of STAT4, a region conserved across the species listed, and is commonly used to track STAT4 expression and phosphorylation status in Th1 and Th17 differentiation assays, viral immunity models, and tumor microenvironment studies.
