Probing Human STAT1 in JAK-STAT Signaling Studies

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets human STAT1 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 1) at an epitope near residue 701 of the protein. STAT1 is a central effector of type I, type II, and type III interferon signaling through the JAK-STAT cascade, where phosphorylation at Tyr701 drives dimerization, nuclear translocation, and transcription of interferon-stimulated genes. Researchers employ this reagent in innate immunity, viral pathogenesis, and tumor biology workflows that depend on accurate readouts of pathway activation.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the antibody supports detection of endogenous STAT1 in whole-cell lysates and in formalin-fixed tissue sections. Typical study designs include characterizing interferon responses in viral infection models, mapping JAK-STAT pathway activity in primary immune cell populations, comparing STAT1 expression between tumor and matched normal tissue, and profiling STAT1 status in patient samples with suspected inborn errors of immunity.

Each vial contains 100 µL of unconjugated antisera, allowing pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents chosen by the end user. The reagent is reactive with human STAT1; species outside the validated reactivity panel have not been characterized by the manufacturer. Intended for research use only.
