Raised in rabbit against the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied in a 100 µl vial and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Researchers in adrenal, gonadal, and placental biology apply it to localize STAR expression in the zona fasciculata and zona glomerulosa of the adrenal cortex, Leydig cells of the testis, theca and granulosa cells of the ovary, and the trophoblast layers of the placenta.

The reagent supports mechanistic studies into how cholesterol flux from the outer to the inner mitochondrial membrane controls glucocorticoid, mineralocorticoid, and sex steroid output, and into how loss-of-function mutations give rise to congenital lipoid adrenal hyperplasia.
