Anti-STAG2 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets STAG2 (Stromal Antigen 2), a core subunit of the cohesin ring complex that physically holds replicated sister chromatids together from S phase through mitosis. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG in a 100 µl vial, the reagent is validated for western blot detection of the human STAG2 protein (~141 kDa). STAG2 is encoded on the X chromosome at Xq25 and assembles with SMC1, SMC3, and RAD21 to mediate sister chromatid cohesion, support proper chromosome segregation, and contribute to DNA double-strand break repair through homologous recombination. Loss-of-function mutations and reduced expression of STAG2 have been reported in Ewing sarcoma, glioblastoma, bladder urothelial carcinoma, and a range of myeloid neoplasms including AML and MDS, where impaired cohesion drives aneuploidy and chromosomal instability, making reliable STAG2 detection useful for cancer research and studies of genome stability.
