Anti-SSX5 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and purified by antigen-affinity methods, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent targets synovial sarcoma X breakpoint 5 (SSX5), a 188-amino-acid KRAB-containing nuclear protein encoded at Xp11.23 that belongs to the cancer/testis antigen family. SSX5 shares approximately 80% sequence identity with SSX1, SSX2, SSX3, and SSX4 and normally shows highly restricted expression in testicular tissue, but it becomes reactivated in melanoma cell lines and in multiple myeloma, where co-expression of SSX1, 2, 4, and 5 has been correlated with adverse prognosis. These properties position the reagent as a useful probe in tumor-associated antigen research and in studies of cancer vaccine-based immunotherapy targeting the SSX family.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence by Antibodies.com, the antibody detects SSX5 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species comparative work on SSX-mediated transcriptional repression. The product is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot in a single-use vial; for continuous use, store at -20 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
