Anti-SSTR2 Antibody

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets somatostatin receptor type 2 (SSTR2), a seven-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor that mediates the antiproliferative and inhibitory signaling effects of somatostatin-14 and somatostatin-28 peptides. SSTR2 is broadly expressed across the central nervous system, pancreatic islets, and gastrointestinal tract, and is frequently investigated in research on neuroendocrine tumors, pituitary adenoma biology, and somatostatin analog pharmacology.

Supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the antibody is raised in rabbit and validated for Western Blot detection of endogenous SSTR2 protein. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative receptor expression studies across species.

The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to conjugate the antibody to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores of their choice for downstream chemiluminescent, colorimetric, or fluorescence-based detection workflows.
