Rabbit polyclonal IgG targeting Signal Sequence Receptor 4, a type I transmembrane subunit of the TRAP (translocon-associated protein) complex embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. This unconjugated reagent from Antibodies.com binds endogenous SSR4 in human and mouse samples and is supplied as a 50 µL liquid aliquot for Western blot workflows.
SSR4 partners with the Sec61 translocon to mediate co-translational protein import into the ER lumen and supports calcium homeostasis within the endoplasmic reticulum, making this antibody a useful tool for laboratories investigating nascent chain processing, early secretory pathway function, and glycosylation biology. Loss-of-function mutations in the SSR4 gene cause congenital disorder of glycosylation type Iy (CDG-Iy), so the reagent is also relevant to neurodevelopmental disease models and rare-disease research. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, isotype is IgG, and reactivity covers both human and mouse lysates.
