This polyclonal rabbit IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets SSNA1, a roughly 14 kDa nuclear and cytoskeletal protein also known as NSP5a/5b and originally described as the NA14 autoantigen in Sjögren's syndrome. In proliferating cells the protein localizes to centrosomes and the mitotic spindle, where it bundles microtubules and contributes to proper cytokinesis, which is why researchers track it as a marker for mitotic progression and division fidelity.

The product is supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot of unlabelled Rabbit IgG, with polyclonal clonality and confirmed human reactivity. Recommended storage is at -20 °C in single-use aliquots; aliquoting on first use limits repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserves binding activity across long experiments. Lyophilized formats should be briefly centrifuged before reconstitution.

Validated applications include Western blot, where the reagent recognizes an endogenous band near the expected ~14 kDa position in human cell lines such as HEK293 and HeLa, and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, including salivary gland and lymph node sections where SSNA1 expression in dividing epithelial and immune cell populations can be examined. The unconjugated format also makes the antibody a suitable primary layer for downstream detection with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents of the user's choice.

SSNA1 was first characterized as a nuclear autoantigen recognized by autoantibodies in sera from Sjögren's syndrome patients, so the reagent is also used in autoimmune serology studies that compare autoantibody signatures in patient versus control cohorts. Host is Rabbit, isotype IgG, conjugate Unconjugated. Intended for research use only.
