This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody targets SREBP-1 (sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1), a basic-helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper transcription factor that drives fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis. Supplied by Antibodies.com as part of their Primary Antibodies line, the reagent is prepared at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is packaged in a 100 µl vial calibrated for routine western blot and immunohistochemistry use.

The antibody has been validated for reactivity against human and rat samples and is widely used in metabolic disease research, including hepatic steatosis, insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and adipogenesis studies. Polyclonal reactivity enables recognition of multiple epitopes on both the full-length precursor (~125 kDa) and the proteolytically cleaved, transcriptionally active nuclear fragment (~65 kDa) of SREBP-1, supporting consistent signal across overexpression systems and endogenous expression. Lysates from cultured hepatocytes, adipose tissue, and liver biopsies are typical input material for western blot, while formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections are well-suited for IHC detection of nuclear-localized active SREBP-1.
