A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody to SREBF2 supports tissue-level investigation of cholesterol biosynthesis and lipid homeostasis. SREBF2, also known as SREBP-2, is synthesized as a membrane-associated transcription-factor precursor and undergoes regulated proteolytic cleavage when cellular sterol levels change.

Validated by Antibodies.com for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, the antibody detects endogenous SREBF2 in human, mouse, and rat samples. Its unconjugated IgG format can be paired with a user-selected labeled secondary antibody for chromogenic or fluorescence detection.

Typical applications include mapping SREBF2 expression in normal and tumor tissue microarrays, examining hepatic sterol metabolism, and studying dyslipidemia, atherosclerotic plaque biology, and responses to perturbation of the SREBP-2 cleavage or mevalonate pathways. Comparing tissue localization and abundance can help connect pathway activity with disease models and metabolic experimental conditions.

The reagent is supplied in a 50 µl vial and is intended for research workflows involving formalin-fixed tissue sections.
