Anti-SRD5A1 Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody targets SRD5A1 (Steroid 5α-Reductase Type 1), the microsomal enzyme that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of testosterone to the more potent androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH ~7.3) with 0.05% sodium azide added as a preservative.

Validated for Western Blot (WB), the antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat SRD5A1, supporting research into hepatic, cutaneous, neural, and prostatic steroidogenesis where isoform 1 contributes to local androgen pools. Because the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the target, it is useful for detecting endogenous expression, confirming overexpression in transfected cell lines, or verifying knockdown efficiency at the protein level.
