Anti-Src (Ab-529) Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and is directed against Src (Ab-529), a non-receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the SRC proto-oncogene. The immunogen corresponds to a synthetic peptide spanning amino acids 527–531 (P-Q-Y-Q-P) of human Src, and the antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total Src protein regardless of phosphorylation state. It is supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µl aliquot of phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, with no fluorophore or enzyme label attached (unconjugated). Validated applications include Western blotting and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, making the reagent suitable for cross-species studies of Src signalling in cell lysates and tissue sections. The antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a KLH-conjugated peptide and subsequently purified by affinity chromatography against the epitope-specific peptide to maximize specificity.
