Anti-SPR Antibody

Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl aliquot, this rabbit polyclonal antiserum targets sepiapterin reductase (SPR), a key enzyme in tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis. The reagent is unconjugated and is provided purified by antigen-affinity chromatography in 0.1 M Tris-buffered saline with 20% glycerol (pH 7.0), with 0.01% thimerosal added as a preservative. The immunogen corresponds to a recombinant protein fragment spanning amino acids 65–253 of the human SPR sequence, ensuring reactivity with human samples as confirmed in validation data on A431 whole-cell lysates and methanol-fixed HeLa cells. The antibody is recommended for Western blotting at a 1:1000 starting dilution and for immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence at approximately 1:200, making it suitable for studies of pterin metabolism and related cellular pathways. It is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C upon receipt, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity.
