Raised in rabbit and purified by antigen affinity chromatography, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets sepiapterin reductase (SPR), the enzyme also known as SDR38C1 that mediates the final step of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) biosynthesis. The antibody was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the C-terminus of the human SPR protein and specifically recognises endogenous levels of total SPR, making it a dependable tool for expression studies in human samples. It is supplied unconjugated at 2.6 mg/mL in a 100 µL volume, formulated in PBS at pH 7.3 with 0.05% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. Validated applications include Western Blot (WB) for detecting SPR across lysates and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for localising the protein in tissue sections, with reactivity confirmed against human specimens. For best stability, the vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored long-term at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles to preserve antibody integrity. Intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, this reagent offers laboratories a well-characterised option for studying BH4 metabolism, neurotransmitter biosynthesis, and any biological context in which sepiapterin reductase activity plays a role.
