Anti-SPFH2 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets SPFH2, a prohibitin-homology domain protein embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Also known as Erlin-2, SPFH2 assembles into ring-shaped oligomers that function as an ER-associated degradation (ERAD) scaffold, selectively recognizing and routing activated inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) receptors for ubiquitin-proteasome turnover. The reagent is raised in rabbit, unconjugated, and supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a single-use vial for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. Research applications include probing ER membrane composition, mapping IP3R turnover dynamics, and investigating links between SPFH2 loss-of-function and hereditary spastic paraplegia (SPG18), in which ERAD substrate clearance is disrupted.
