SPARC (Secreted Protein Acidic and Rich in Cysteine), also referred to as osteonectin or BM-40, is a multifunctional matricellular glycoprotein that modulates cell–matrix interactions, collagen deposition, and growth factor signaling. Research groups studying tumor microenvironment biology, fibrosis, wound repair, and bone mineralization routinely raise polyclonal reagents against this target for cross-species comparisons.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of liquid and is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows with human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal format increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on SPARC, which is useful when probing cleaved or alternatively spliced forms of the protein. Because the reagent is unconjugated, individual laboratories can conjugate it to HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore of choice to match their preferred detection chemistry.

Typical applications include analysis of conditioned media or tissue lysates by Western blot to monitor secreted SPARC levels, and ELISA-based quantification in conditioned media from fibrosis or oncology studies. Reactivity across human, mouse, and rat supports translational work that compares expression between animal models and clinical material.
