Anti-SPAG5 Antibody

SPAG5 (Sperm Associated Antigen 5), also known as Astrin, is a mitotic spindle-associated protein required for kinetochore-microtubule attachment, chromosome alignment, and faithful chromosome segregation during mitosis. Dysregulated SPAG5 expression has been associated with tumor proliferation and adverse prognosis in carcinomas of the breast, lung, and ovary, making the target of growing interest in cell cycle and oncology research.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µL liquid aliquot at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, prepared for direct dilution into standard Western blot workflows with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies. Store refrigerated and protect from light; small working aliquots are recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock. Note that the included sodium azide is incompatible with HRP-based detection unless removed or sufficiently diluted before use.

Validation has been performed on human cell line lysates including HeLa and HEK293, supporting studies of mitotic checkpoint regulation, centrosome behavior, and SPAG5-dependent signaling in dividing cells.
