SPAG16 (Sperm-Associated Antigen 16) is a ciliary/flagellar protein implicated in motile cilia assembly, with a testis-enriched short isoform supporting sperm motility and a longer isoform expressed broadly in tissues including brain. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, is raised against SPAG16 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on mouse samples.

Distributed by Antibodies.com, the antibody is unconjugated, allowing investigators to choose their own detection chemistry or label for custom workflows. The polyclonal format confers multi-epitope recognition, which can be advantageous when probing either SPAG16 isoform. Researchers studying primary ciliary dyskinesia, asthenozoospermia, or motile cilia biology in murine models apply this reagent to denaturing/reducing SDS-PAGE lysates for Western blot and to fixed tissue sections for immunohistochemical localization.

Handling notes: the buffer contains sodium azide as a preservative, so the reagent should not be added directly to live-cell culture. Long-term storage should be at -20°C in single-use aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and the vial should be returned to the freezer promptly after each use. Thawed material remains stable short term at 4°C for several weeks provided it is kept sterile and protected from light.
