This polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and targets SPAG16 (Sperm-Associated Antigen 16), a structural protein required for axonemal assembly of motile cilia and the sperm flagellum. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 100 µl and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of ciliogenesis, flagellar biogenesis, and spermatogenesis.

SPAG16, also known as PF20, is expressed in tissues carrying motile cilia, including testis, trachea, and fallopian tube, and has been linked in published research to primary ciliary dyskinesia and to male infertility associated with impaired sperm motility. Because polyclonal sera bind multiple epitopes on the target, this reagent can detect SPAG16 splice variants and is useful for tracking expression across experimental conditions.

The unconjugated format lets researchers pair it with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies of their choice. Suggested uses include immunoblotting of cultured cells or tissue homogenates to compare SPAG16 expression, and chromogenic or fluorescent IHC on fixed sections to localize the protein within ciliated epithelium or seminiferous tubules. Aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve titre for downstream assays.
