A rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody raised against SPA17 (Sperm Protein Antigen 17), supplied at 100 µL and unconjugated for Western blot workflows in human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com and is suitable for immunodetection studies where SPA17 expression is being characterized in cell or tissue lysates.

SPA17 was originally described as a sperm surface protein involved in flagellar binding and motility, but the same antigen has since been reported in multiple tumor types, including ovarian carcinoma, multiple myeloma, and certain lung cancers, where it has drawn interest as a candidate cancer/testis antigen for tumor immunology research. Polyclonal detection reagents against SPA17 are therefore useful for both reproductive biology workflows and for groups investigating tumor-associated expression, abnormal isoforms, or immune-target discovery.

Recommended handling: aliquot the 100 µL stock on first use to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the storage vial. Store refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term use, and freeze at -20 degrees C for longer-term storage to preserve binding activity. The unconjugated IgG format allows pairing with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin-labeled secondary reagents of the researcher's choice. Intended for research use only in laboratory immunodetection assays.
