SP110, an interferon-induced nuclear body protein and transcriptional coactivator, is targeted by this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com. As a member of the SP100/SP140 protein family, SP110 contains a SAND domain that contacts DNA and a nuclear-body-targeting sequence that localizes the protein to punctate structures adjacent to PML nuclear bodies, where it contributes to innate immune gene regulation and chromatin remodeling.

Each vial ships as a 50 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a cryoprotectant that keeps the preparation liquid at -20 °C for convenient handling while preserving antibody activity. Recommended storage is at -20 °C, with working aliquots suggested to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Validated applications include Western blot on lysates from Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, where the antibody yields a nuclear punctate staining pattern consistent with the known localization of endogenous SP110.

Because SP110 expression is upregulated by type I and type II interferons, and SP110 variants have been investigated in the context of mycobacterial susceptibility and interferon-based therapy response in chronic hepatitis C, this reagent is frequently used to profile host innate-immune signaling and nuclear body composition across infection models and patient-derived samples. The unconjugated format also allows flexible pairing with the user's preferred secondary antibody for chromogenic IHC, immunofluorescence, or chemiluminescent Western blot detection.
