Anti-SP-A Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit against surfactant protein A (SP-A) and is intended for research use only. The antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid formulation at approximately 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, and is unconjugated with an IgG isotype. It has been validated for ELISA and Western blot applications, where it recognises endogenous levels of SP-A, and shows confirmed reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples. The immunogen corresponds to a synthesised peptide derived from the internal region of human SP-A, allowing detection of the relevant ~35 kDa band associated with surfactant homeostasis and disorders such as alveolar proteinosis. For routine handling the vial is shipped at 4 °C; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity.
