SOX8 is a member of the SOXE subgroup of SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) transcription factors, sharing high homology with SOX9 and SOX10. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the SOX8 protein and is validated for Western Blot applications across human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as a 200 µl volume, providing flexibility in choice of secondary detection system for individual experimental setups.

SOX8 contributes to developmental programs including male gonad development, neural crest differentiation, chondrogenesis, and hair follicle morphogenesis. The polyclonal antibody format recognizes multiple epitopes on the SOX8 protein, supporting detection under varied denaturing and reducing conditions commonly used in WB workflows. Researchers in reproductive biology, developmental biology, oncology, and neuroscience use SOX8 reagents to probe expression patterns in testis, ovary, brain, cartilage, and melanoma cell models.

For storage and handling, the antibody should be stored at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Each aliquot retains activity through multiple freeze-thaw events when handled with care. Brief centrifugation before use collects any aggregated material at the vial bottom, preserving reagent integrity.

The unconjugated format allows the antibody to pair with HRP-conjugated, alkaline phosphatase-conjugated, or fluorescently labeled secondary antibodies, depending on the Western Blot detection platform. The rabbit host and IgG isotype offer compatibility with most commercial secondary antibody panels.
