The Antibodies.com Anti-SOX2 Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent that detects the SRY-box transcription factor 2 (SOX2), a ~34 kDa nuclear protein required for maintaining pluripotency in embryonic stem cells and a long-established marker of neural progenitor identity. This unconjugated antibody recognizes epitopes conserved in human and mouse SOX2, enabling cross-species studies in stem cell biology, neurodevelopment, and oncology where SOX2 overexpression is implicated in squamous cell carcinoma and glioblastoma. The reagent is supplied as 100 µg of liquid in a vial, validated for western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC), where it produces the nuclear staining pattern expected of a transcription factor. For best results, aliquot upon arrival and store at -20°C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. Researchers apply this reagent to monitor iPSC reprogramming, evaluate neural rosette differentiation, and characterize cancer stem cell populations in vitro.
