Sox2 is a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors that maintains self-renewal and pluripotency in embryonic and neural stem cells, and is also expressed in several cancer stem cell populations studied in glioma and other solid tumors.

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl liquid aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol acting as a cryoprotectant. The antibody recognizes Sox2 epitopes in human, mouse, and rat samples and has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on both frozen and formalin-fixed material.

For routine handling, aliquot the antibody upon arrival, store refrigerated, protect from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity across repeated experiments. Researchers commonly apply this reagent to mark pluripotent stem cells, neural progenitors, and tumor-initiating cell populations in cultured lines and in tissue sections, where it serves as a reference nuclear marker alongside Oct4 and Nanog.
