Sorbitol dehydrogenase (SORD) catalyzes the NAD-dependent oxidation of sorbitol to fructose within the polyol pathway, a metabolic route of interest in studies of diabetic complications and polyol flux in neural tissue. This unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against human SORD and supports detection of the endogenous protein in western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows.
Reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing direct comparison of SORD expression across standard model organisms without re-validating each species separately. The reagent is supplied at 100 µl as a polyclonal antiserum and is delivered unconjugated, so it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-labelled secondary reagents selected by the user. It is intended for research use only.
For handling, store the antibody frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding performance over time. Brief centrifugation before use will recover any material from the vial cap.
