Rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent raised against SOCS2 (Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling 2), supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl unconjugated aliquot in a storage vial for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. The target is an intracellular feedback regulator of the JAK-STAT cytokine signaling cascade, where SOCS2 restrains signal output by inhibiting receptor-associated Janus kinases and downstream STAT transcription factors.

SOCS2 biology is best characterized in growth hormone physiology: SOCS2-deficient mice develop a classical gigantism phenotype driven by unrestrained growth hormone and IGF-1 signaling. Subsequent work links altered SOCS2 expression to melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and several hematological malignancies, while immune-regulation studies position it as a brake on cytokine-driven inflammation. With reactivity across human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody supports signaling research in tissue sections, primary cells, and standard cell-line panels.

Provided as 200 µl of polyclonal rabbit serum in IgG isotype and unconjugated format, the reagent leaves secondary-label choice to the user, supporting chemiluminescent Western blot, chromogenic IHC, and fluorescent immunostaining. For best practice, aliquot upon arrival and store at -20°C to limit freeze-thaw damage; working dilutions can be kept briefly at 4°C. The polyclonal backbone increases the chance of recognizing native epitopes and supports both initial validation and routine detection of SOCS2 in disease-model and signaling studies.
