SOAT1 (Sterol O-Acyltransferase 1, also called ACAT1) is a membrane-bound endoplasmic reticulum enzyme that converts cholesterol and long-chain fatty acyl-CoA substrates into cholesteryl esters, supporting cellular cholesterol homeostasis and lipid droplet formation. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit, supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and unconjugated for direct label compatibility.

The antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples and ships as a 100 µL aliquot, providing enough volume for multiple staining or blotting experiments. Investigators working on cholesterol metabolism, macrophage foam cell biology in atherosclerosis, and lipid storage disorders can use it to localize endogenous SOAT1 in tissue sections and whole-cell lysates. The sodium azide in the buffer permits short-term handling at 4°C, while the glycerol cryoprotectant allows the reagent to be aliquoted and stored at -20°C for long-term use without losing activity.
