Targeted at the SNRPD1 (Sm-D1) core protein of the spliceosomal snRNP complex, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl vial and validated for immunofluorescence on human samples. SNRPD1 is a 13.3 kDa constituent of the U1, U2, U4/U6, and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins that assemble into the spliceosome, the ribonucleoprotein machine responsible for catalyzing pre-mRNA splicing. Because the reagent carries no directly attached fluorophore, it can be paired with any compatible anti-rabbit secondary antibody, giving laboratories flexibility to match fluorophores (such as Alexa Fluor, FITC, or Cy3 conjugates) and filter sets to their microscope.

Recommended uses include visualizing the nuclear and Cajal body distribution of SNRPD1 in cultured human cells, probing spliceosome organization in fixed tissue sections, and supporting studies of pre-mRNA processing, snRNP biogenesis, and diseases in which SNRPD1 expression or autoantibody reactivity is relevant, including systemic lupus erythematosus and certain cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma and triple-negative breast cancer. The antibody should be stored at -20°C for continuous use, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve activity.

Researchers are advised to include secondary-only and antigen-control reactions alongside the primary, and to optimize fixation, permeabilization, dilution, and incubation conditions for their specific specimen and detection system. This reagent is for in vitro research use only.
