SNAP25 (Synaptosomal-Associated Protein, 25 kDa) is a core component of the neuronal SNARE machinery, required for calcium-triggered fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic plasma membrane and the subsequent release of neurotransmitters. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and detects endogenous SNAP25 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of synaptic transmission across model organisms.

Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated liquid stock in a single vial, the reagent is validated for multiple immunoassay workflows. Verified applications include Western blot for expression profiling in brain homogenates and neuronal lysates, immunoprecipitation of native SNAP25-containing SNARE complexes, immunofluorescence on cultured neurons and brain sections to visualize presynaptic terminals, and immunohistochemistry for regional mapping in tissues such as hippocampus, cortex, and cerebellum.

Common research uses include investigations of synaptic vesicle cycling, neurodegenerative disease models (Alzheimer's and Parkinson's), mechanisms of insulin exocytosis in pancreatic beta cells, and the molecular action of botulinum neurotoxins, which proteolytically cleave SNAP25 to block transmitter release. Store frozen at -20°C, preferably in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. For research use only.
