The SNAP25 target (Synaptosomal-Associated Protein, 25 kDa) is a presynaptic t-SNARE that pairs with syntaxin and VAMP/synaptobrevin to drive calcium-triggered vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release, and this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit to detect that neuronal SNARE component across multiple immunoassay workflows.

Validated applications include Western blot (WB), where the antibody decorates the expected ~25 kDa band in brain lysates, together with immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunoprecipitation (IP). The reagent shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat SNAP25, making it useful for comparative studies of synaptic machinery across rodent models and human tissue.

Each vial of 100 µl is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and the polyclonal format expands epitope coverage across the SNAP25 sequence. SNAP25 is the proteolytic substrate of botulinum neurotoxins type A and type E, and the antibody is therefore frequently used to monitor toxin cleavage products, splice-isoform expression (SNAP-25a vs SNAP-25b), and altered presynaptic SNARE assembly in neurological disease models.
