This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG primary antibody targets SNAP23 (Synaptosome Associated Protein 23), a ubiquitous member of the SNARE protein family essential for vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane during regulated exocytosis. Produced and validated by Antibodies.com, the reagent is supplied as 200 µl in a vial and is suited to western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

SNAP23 partners with syntaxin and VAMP family members to mediate fusion of secretory vesicles at the plasma membrane, supporting insulin granule exocytosis in pancreatic beta cells, dense-core granule release in platelets, and degranulation in mast cells. Because the protein is broadly expressed outside the nervous system, this reagent is used to investigate membrane trafficking in non-neuronal systems, including Glut4 trafficking studies in adipocytes and myotubes, airway mucus secretion in epithelial models, and phagolysosomal trafficking in macrophages.

The antibody is raised in rabbit, is of polyclonal clonality with an IgG isotype, and is provided unconjugated to allow flexible selection of reporter-conjugated secondaries or direct detection chemistries. Researchers applying it to immunohistochemistry can pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit secondaries, while western blot applications typically rely on chemiluminescent detection of transferred lysates.
