The zinc-finger transcriptional repressor SNAI1 drives epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a process underlying embryonic morphogenesis, organ fibrosis, and metastatic dissemination in carcinomas. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against human SNAI1 and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologs, supporting translational studies across species.

Supplied in a vial of 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the reagent is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry. On western blot it detects the ~29 kDa SNAI1 band; on IHC it highlights nuclear staining in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, consistent with the protein's role as a chromatin-associated repressor of E-cadherin and other epithelial markers.

Common uses include profiling EMT status in tumor xenografts, characterizing fibroblast activation in fibrotic disease models, and tracking neural crest-derived lineages in developmental biology. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on SNAI1, which can improve tolerance for minor sequence variation between species. Aliquot upon receipt and store frozen at -20 degrees C in single-use portions; protect from light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. For research use only.
