The SMYD3 protein is a histone H3-K4-specific methyltransferase that contains a SET catalytic domain together with a MYND-type zinc finger motif, and it participates in chromatin-mediated transcriptional regulation. Aberrant SMYD3 activity has been linked to proliferation, migration, and invasion in several cancer cell lines, particularly those derived from breast, hepatocellular, and colorectal tissue, which is why this target is widely studied in cancer biology, stem cell biology, and chromatin research.

This polyclonal reagent was raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody validated for Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), and Immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on Human and Mouse samples. Researchers use it to detect endogenous SMYD3 expression and to map its subcellular localization when dissecting histone methylation pathways, transcription factor programs, and signaling responses tied to SMYD3-driven tumor phenotypes.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide as a preservative and 50% Glycerol as a stabilizing cryoprotectant. The glycerol-based formulation is intended for aliquoted storage and is built to withstand repeated freeze-thaw cycles, while the unconjugated format leaves the choice of label, isotype-specific secondary, and detection chemistry entirely to the end user.
