SMYD2 is a SET and MYND domain-containing lysine methyltransferase that catalyzes methylation of histone H3 at lysine 36 and non-histone substrates such as tumor suppressor p53 at K370, linking it to chromatin regulation, transcription control, and DNA damage response pathways that are studied in cancer biology, cardiac development, and stem cell contexts. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) with 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous SMYD2 in human and mouse samples. The antibody can be used to confirm SMYD2 expression across cell lysates, to probe methylation-dependent signaling in cell culture systems, and to validate knockdown or overexpression experiments in research workflows. For handling, the reagent should be aliquoted upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and stored frozen at -20 °C or below for long-term stability. The host species is mouse, the clonality is monoclonal, and the unconjugated format offers flexibility in selecting secondary detection reagents and tailoring downstream applications.
