The SMYD1 protein (SET and MYND Domain Containing 1) is a muscle-enriched histone methyltransferase essential for cardiomyocyte differentiation and skeletal muscle maturation. This mouse monoclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes SMYD1 and has been validated for Western blot detection in rat samples. Supplied as a 50 µL liquid aliquot, the unconjugated antibody is provided ready for routine immunoblotting of muscle-derived lysates.

Researchers studying cardiac development, muscle-specific transcriptional regulation, or sarcomere assembly can use this reagent to monitor endogenous SMYD1 expression across developmental stages and disease models. For short-term use, store at 4 °C, and aliquot upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
