SMNDC1 (Survival Motor Neuron Domain Containing 1), also referred to as SPF30, is a Tudor-domain protein that participates in the assembly of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins and the splicing of pre-mRNA. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, shipped in a 100 µl volume.

The antibody has been validated on human, mouse, and rat samples and detects endogenous SMNDC1 in both cytoplasmic and nuclear compartments, where the target localizes to Cajal bodies and nuclear gems. Researchers studying spinal muscular atrophy, spliceosome biogenesis, and RNA processing use this reagent for expression profiling across tissue sections by immunohistochemistry and for confirming knockdown or overexpression in cell-based models by western blot.

The 50% glycerol formulation permits direct dilution into standard antibody diluents and supports short-term storage at -20 °C without freeze-thaw damage to working aliquots. Each lot is verified by western blot against lysates expressing the target, providing reproducible band detection consistent with the expected molecular weight of approximately 26 kDa for human SMNDC1. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which is valuable when working with post-translationally modified nuclear proteins.
