Anti-SMC2 Antibody [KT74]

The Antibodies.com Anti-SMC2 Antibody [KT74] is a rat monoclonal raised against the Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes 2 (SMC2) protein, a core ATPase subunit shared by the condensin I and condensin II holocomplexes. SMC2 pairs with SMC4 to form heterodimeric hinge and head modules that drive mitotic chromosome condensation, sister chromatid resolution, and proper segregation during anaphase. Validated for Western blot, the unconjugated IgG2a clone detects endogenous mouse SMC2 (~135 kDa) in whole-cell and chromatin-enriched lysates, supporting studies of cell-cycle progression, condensin loading dynamics, and chromosome architecture. The reagent is supplied as a 100 ug liquid formulation intended for research use only, and aliquots should be stored refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term use, with longer-term storage at -20 degrees C recommended to preserve activity.
