Anti-SMC2 Antibody

The Antibodies.com Anti-SMC2 polyclonal reagent targets human Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes 2 (SMC2), the core ATPase subunit of the condensin I and condensin II complexes that drive chromosome condensation, sister chromatid resolution, and mitotic chromosome segregation.

Raised in rabbit and purified as an IgG preparation, this unconjugated primary antibody is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous SMC2 in human cell lysates, supporting studies of cell cycle progression, mitosis, and chromosome architecture.

Each vial contains 200 µl of antibody, supplied at working concentrations appropriate for immunoblotting whole-protein extracts. Researchers commonly pair anti-SMC2 with markers for condensin partners such as SMC4 and CAP-D2 to profile condensin complex assembly and loading dynamics across mitosis.
