A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com that specifically recognizes Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes 1 (SMC1) when phosphorylated at serine 957. This phospho-specific antibody detects an ATM kinase substrate site that becomes modified during the DNA damage response to double-strand breaks, ionizing radiation, and replication stress, providing a readout of S-phase checkpoint activation in cell-based assays.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. It has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications on human samples, and it is offered in a single-use vial format suitable for standard immunoassay workflows.

Typical research uses include mapping cohesin dynamics after genotoxic insult, profiling ATM/ATR pathway output, and monitoring S957 phosphorylation kinetics in synchronized cell populations. The reagent is intended for research use only.

For handling, store at -20 °C; the glycerol formulation keeps the antibody liquid at this temperature. Aliquotting upon first use limits freeze-thaw cycling and preserves titre across experiments, while the included sodium azide serves as a microbial preservative for storage.
