Raised in rabbit against the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling subunit SMARCC1 (also known as BAF155), this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It reacts with SMARCC1 from human, mouse, and rat samples and is qualified for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation workflows.

SMARCC1 is a core scaffolding subunit of the mammalian SWI/SNF (BAF) ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex, where it bridges the catalytic ATPase subunits BRG1 (SMARCA4) or BRM (SMARCA2) with the lineage-defining regulatory subunits. Through its role in mobilizing nucleosomes at promoters and enhancers, SMARCC1 contributes to lineage-specific transcription, the DNA damage response, and cell cycle control. Researchers use this reagent to probe BAF complex composition by immunoprecipitation and to map BAF155 chromatin occupancy genome-wide.

The 50% glycerol formulation keeps the antibody liquid and ready to use. Aliquot upon arrival into single-use volumes and store at -20°C, protected from light, to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Optimal working dilutions should be titrated empirically for each application and sample type.
