The SMARCA4 protein, also called BRG1, is the catalytic ATPase subunit of the SWI/SNF chromatin-remodeling complex. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against SMARCA4 and recognizes an epitope conserved across human, mouse, and rat orthologs, supporting western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

In western blot, the antibody typically detects the full-length SMARCA4 polypeptide, which migrates near 185 kDa. For IHC, it is useful for profiling chromatin-remodeler expression in tumor sections, including rhabdoid tumors and small cell carcinoma of the ovary, where SMARCA4 loss is diagnostically relevant. Immunofluorescence on fixed cells highlights nuclear staining consistent with the protein's chromatin association.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, sufficient for multiple experiments when aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Store at -20 °C in working aliquots and protect from light if fluorescent conjugates are later prepared. For research use only; not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
