Anti-Smad4 Antibody

The Antibodies.com Anti-Smad4 polyclonal antibody is produced in rabbit and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Smad4, also known as DPC4, is a central mediator of the TGF-beta signaling pathway, where it partners with receptor-activated Smad proteins to translocate into the nucleus and regulate target gene transcription. Loss-of-function mutations in Smad4 are recurrent in juvenile polyposis syndrome and in sporadic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, making the protein a widely studied focus in tumor suppressor research and intracellular signal transduction studies.

Supplied as 100 µL in a vial of affinity-purified antibody at 1 mg/ml, the reagent is formulated in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The polyclonal antibody shows reactivity against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting consistent use across common laboratory model systems and human tissue specimens. For storage, aliquot and store at -20 °C in a frost-free freezer; the 50% glycerol cryoprotectant limits damage from repeated freeze-thaw cycles during routine bench handling.
