Anti-SMAD2 + SMAD3 Antibody

Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal IgG, this Antibodies.com reagent co-detects SMAD2 and SMAD3, the receptor-regulated mediators of TGF-β signal transduction that translocate to the nucleus upon activation to regulate target gene transcription. The 50 µl liquid preparation supports western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in human, mouse, and rat experimental systems.

On western blot, the antibody enables relative quantification of SMAD2 and SMAD3 abundance in cell or tissue lysates. Immunohistochemistry allows protein localization studies in tissue sections, while immunofluorescence supports cell-based imaging of endogenous SMAD2/3 distribution. Because the reagent recognizes both paralogs simultaneously, differentiation of SMAD2-specific versus SMAD3-specific signaling requires isoform-specific controls or parallel knock-down experiments.
