This rabbit polyclonal phospho-specific reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against Smad1 phosphorylated at serine 465, the C-terminal SVS motif site targeted by BMP type I receptors during canonical bone morphogenetic protein signaling. Supplied as an unconjugated, 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide (approx. pH 7.2), the antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples. Phospho-S465 Smad1 reports active receptor-Smad signaling downstream of BMP2, BMP4, and BMP7 ligands, supporting readouts of osteoblast differentiation, chondrogenesis, vascular remodeling, neural stem cell maintenance, and TGF-β superfamily cross-talk in cell culture and tissue sections. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage around the phospho-SVS motif, which can help recover signal when phospho-Ser467-only reagents give weak bands. Aliquot upon arrival, store refrigerated at 4 degrees C, and protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-specific binding activity.
