Phospho-specific detection of receptor-activated SMAD1 is enabled by this polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl aliquot of unconjugated IgG. The antibody selectively recognizes SMAD1 phosphorylated at serine 465, the activating mark deposited by type I BMP receptors within the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling cascade. It is validated for Western blot and reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it well suited for comparative studies of BMP-driven pathways in cell lysates and tissue extracts. Researchers studying osteogenesis, chondrogenesis, neurodevelopment, and iron homeostasis commonly use this target to monitor pathway activation downstream of ALK2, ALK3, or ALK6. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of robust signal across denatured SMAD1 in whole-cell lysates, while the unconjugated presentation allows flexible pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagents according to the experimental design.
