Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific immunogen chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µl liquid at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide. The unconjugated antibody was generated against a synthesized peptide derived from the N-terminal region of human Smad1 / 5 / 9 and recognizes endogenous levels of the Smad1/5/9 family of signaling proteins. It has been validated for Western blotting, immunohistochemistry and ELISA, and cross-reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, making it a versatile choice for studies of BMP/TGF-β pathway transduction across model organisms. For routine handling the vial should be kept at 4 °C, and on receipt it is recommended to aliquot and store at –20 °C, taking care to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
