SLK (STE20-like kinase, also known as LOSK) is a serine/threonine kinase of the STE20 family that governs cytoskeletal reorganization, focal adhesion turnover, and cell migration, and it has been implicated in epithelial responses to injury, fibrosis, and apoptosis pathways. The Antibodies.com Anti-SLK reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as an unconjugated, preservative-containing liquid sized for western blot workflows.

Each vial is filled to 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, ready to dilute directly into blocking buffer or standard antibody diluent. The polyclonal preparation was raised in rabbit and validated for detection of SLK from human, rat, and mouse samples by western blot, giving laboratories a single reagent that covers cross-species studies of this kinase.

Suggested applications include probing total SLK expression across cell lines and primary cultures, monitoring changes in SLK levels during epithelial-mesenchymal transition or stress-induced signaling, and supporting immunoblot-based comparisons of wild-type and kinase-inactive or knockdown systems. The unconjugated format lets researchers pair the antibody with their preferred HRP- or fluorescent-labelled secondary reagent and choose chemiluminescent or near-IR detection chemistries as their workflow demands.

For best results, store the vial refrigerated between uses, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and briefly centrifuge any precipitate before pipetting to ensure accurate working dilutions.
