This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically targets SLCO1C1, a member of the organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP) family. Raised in rabbits and supplied as an IgG preparation at 50 µl per vial, the unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot detection of the human target protein.

SLCO1C1 (also called OATP1C1, OATP-F, or SLC21A14) is a twelve-transmembrane-domain solute carrier that mediates sodium-independent uptake of amphipathic organic anions. It is most strongly expressed at the blood–brain barrier, where it transports thyroxine (T4) and reverse triiodothyronine (rT3), supporting thyroid hormone delivery to the central nervous system. Additional expression has been reported in Leydig cells of the testis and in choroid plexus epithelium. Investigators studying blood–brain barrier physiology, thyroid hormone signalling, neuroendocrine regulation, and solute carrier transporter biology use this unconjugated primary antibody to probe endogenous SLCO1C1 levels in human cell and tissue lysates by Western blot.

The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes across the target, which is useful when examining splice isoforms, post-translational variants, or experimental overexpression systems. For best results, aliquot the vial upon first thaw to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and store working aliquots refrigerated; protect from light for long-term stability. Because the antibody is unconjugated, users can pair it with any HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagent matched to their preferred Western blot detection chemistry.
