Anti-SLC5A2 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the human SLC5A2 transporter, this polyclonal antibody targets the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), a 12-transmembrane domain protein expressed predominantly on the luminal membrane of renal proximal tubule epithelial cells where it mediates reabsorption of approximately 90% of filtered glucose. The unconjugated reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and the 100 µl pack size supports routine immunoblotting across multiple gels.

Validated for western blot detection of the SGLT2 band in human, mouse and rat samples, this reagent is used to investigate renal glucose handling, the pathogenesis of familial renal glucosuria, and the on-target pharmacology of SGLT2 inhibitor drugs such as dapagliflozin and empagliflozin. Researchers also deploy it to monitor transporter downregulation in diabetic kidney disease models, in CRISPR or siRNA knockdown validation experiments, and in immunohistochemistry workflows on frozen kidney sections.
